“Do you get angry?”
“Have you ever felt jealous?”
“Have you envied someone?”
“And if you have become angry, jealous, or envy. Do you stay like this all the time?”
No, certainly not because you can stay angry or jealous all the time. No one can live like this forever.
All these things happen in our mind. Where one thought comes and after some moments some other thought replaces it.
This cycle of replacement goes on without stopping.
It means you cannot keep on mad at someone forever. One moment or another moment your anger will go away.
Just like clouds in the sky they do not stay forever over the blazing sun.
So, whatever these emotions are they are harming you in many ways.
If you are hungry and have a bowl full of rice it appears like problem has been solved.
But if you scatter half of the rice you had and ate only the half of it then what do you have now?
An empty bowl of rice and a half empty stomach.
In the same way you have to understand that you only have 100% of mind and if you fill some part of it by negative emotions, are you going to use 100% of it?
So if anything which do not last long and also not benefitting you, is it worth keeping?
I see people saying “I have bad temper.” “I am always angry.”
What does it mean?
It means they are slaves of other people’s actions and opinions because whatever change is happening it is happening inside you and your mind.
I guess no one wants to get angry or depressed. Does anyone?
Then one must control what is happening in his or her mind.
But how can one control all these things?
The answer is by being aware. It will not happen overnight but it will take practice.
And to stay aware one will have to meditate daily.
Meditation literally means to be aware. By being aware you can control these things.
Remember one thing when you tell your mind that you are alone and getting bored it believes you.
But as soon you read joke or see a meme you say this one is funniest joke I have ever read your mind believes again and makes you laugh.
So train yourself and train your mind. Meditate every day. Train every day.
